Garbanzo beans are as high in protein as nuts but have much less fat. They are a great protein source for raw vegans who are avoiding fat or have trouble digesting nuts.
This is a sweet / tart smoothie. Perhaps because I used an apple instead of a banana or because I used kale instead of spinach. Anyways it is a nice change from a sweet smoothie to a subtle sweet smoothie.
Yup it tastes just like apple pie only this one is healthy for you. Have it as a Green Smoothie or not, thus the picture both ways. I made mine Green by using 2 cups of chopped kale.
Long strips of raw zucchini and shaved fennel absorb the lemony vinaigrette, making a delicious base for this salad. Serve right away after tossing with the dressing to keep the zucchini crisp.
Looking for a healthier (and kinder) alternative to chicken wings? Try these juicy, tangy, and spicy buffalo cauliflower "wings"!
Deliciously versatile and with just enough "kick," these bite-sized pieces of cauliflower offer an eerily similar experience to eating chicken wings. With all the flavor and none of the guilt
This twist on classic Wiener Schnitzel is simple to prepare, yet the elegant flavors and presentation make it ideal for entertaining.
This is a bright salad with a bold dressing made from lemon juice, cumin and turmeric. Crisp apples and crunchy almonds provide textural contrast. It is a different salad that is oh so healthy.
Love my mangos but you can make a dessert carpaccios from any fruit you like, such as pineapples, melons, fresh figs, or pears.
Now you know what to do with your summer bounty. This recipe makes a luscious thick soup.
Of course silly we are not making Raw Chicken Wings. But, marinate eggplant, portabella mushrooms strips, or dehydrated cauliflower – are some ideas you can serve this with! Dehydrate it will only take you to the next level. and make it even hotter!
Raw cashew cream makes a luscious creamy base for ranch style dressings and sour cream style sauces. You can substitute any Raw nut or seed.
I saw this recipe in a blog by NEETAC. I tweaked it and bumped up the greens. I always use between 3 to 4 cups of greens in my smoothies.
The addition of the spices and the vanilla make this smoothie taste like a milkshake. I add Vitamineral Green which has a pretty strong "Green" taste and it is totally maked in this smoothie.
I have tried making this with different greens and different fruits. Pineapple, cinnamon, and cayenne is a great combo to try.
Refreshingly bright soup that pops with flavor with addition of the fresh squeezed lemon or lime and fresh ginger root.
This soup is a party in your mouth! A meld of flavors from all over the world. Think heat with chili peppers, think nutty with tahini, think Asian with miso and nama shoyu.
This Raw soup has intense mushroom flavor. I love a full bodied mushroom soup. Hard to believe this recipe only has 4 ingredients in it and one of them is the water.
This curry sauce is very versatile and very good. You could pour over any mix of chopped veggies!
I use this recipe to make Raw wraps. If you want crackers then cut smaller and adjust calories accordingly.
A twist of the usual recipe for Tabouli. There is no grain in here what so ever. You are using cauliflower in place of bulgar wheat.
Being half Sicilian this satisfies my pasta cravings. It is amazing how much it looks like couscous but this version is healthier. You could eat the whole bowl and consume fewer calories than 1 portion of real couscous. Mangia!
Eating Raw is sometimes difficult to get the cruciferous family of vegetables onto your diet. This is a yummy and satisfying option. At 80 calories a serving what could be healthier!
This tastes as pretty as it looks. It is a nice, sweet tart flavor. Don't like tart, then cut the cranberries down to 1/2 cup.
Who says you can't have a cheesy cream sauce on Raw. Excellent over kelp noodles or spiralized zucchini noodles.
I actually eat the whole bowl as my meal. So if making for family just divide servings by # of calories.
Tastes like pure Green but so good! The ginger really takes it to the next level.
Raw food need not be boring. Here is a Raw recipe for bacon. This recipe is a little spicy because I prefer spicy food, not too hot but just enough to perk up your palate. Just eliminate the chili powder or cayenne or both depending if you like a little heat or not.
This Raw soup is delicious, spicy but not too much, all of the different tastes balanced to perfection, with just a hint of sweetness.
A refreshing light taste. It has only a slight licorice taste so it is not offending to your tastebuds.
This recipe was created by Penny Shack.
Recipe makes 3 mini loaves depending on the size of bowl, tupperware, or cheesecake pan you use.

These are a little on the sweet side and calories dense due to the seeds. Makes 24 balls each coming in at 92 calories opposed to 6 bars at 329 calories per bar.
Warm combination of autumn spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice can be used in dishes both savory and sweet.
1. Add to your favorite smoothies.
2. Roast vegetables: Use pumpkin pie spice to season sweet vegetables like winter squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots.
3. Make sweet spiced nuts: Perfect for afternoon snacks, parties, or gifts.
4. Try it in pasta: Think a fantastic pumpkin ravioli in sage butter sauce with pumpkin pie spice and bet a dash of the spice would be delicious in Pasta with Brown Butter and Fried Sage or Pasta with Butternut Squash, Sage, and Pine Nuts, too.
5. Mix it into whipped cream: And then dollop over pies from pumpkin to apple and pecan.
6. Season popcorn.
7. Stir it into pancake batter: Use about 1/2 teaspoon per cup of batter.
8. Mix it into whipped cream: And then dollop over pies from pumpkin to apple and pecan.
9. Add it to coffee: Mix pumpkin pie spice with your coffee grounds, or sprinkle it on your DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Taken from Raw on $10 a Day or Less
This is light but also hearty and quite filling, especially served warm straight from the dehydrator.
Taken from Raw on $10 a Day or Less
This salad is really convenient especially to take to work as a healthy lunch. Marinate the veggies the night before and let them sit in the fridge until lunch the next day and just tossed them in with the spinach. Keeps well for a couple of days
Taken from Raw on $10 a Day or Less
This really satisfies a desire for something heavier and substantial. It is a great zucchini pasta dish.
Taken from Raw on $10 or Less "This doesn't taste like traditional pizza, and it's also not quite like a tostada ... but I've called it pizza because that's what it looks like."
Celery is a fresh, mild taste so in this soup I kicked the flavors up a notch with garlic and cayenne.
Great dish to bring to a summer cookout as there is no mayo involved. Leftovers make great lunches for the week.
This chowder just screams summer fresh flavor. The soup is so sweet since you are not cooking the corn. Even adding a pinch of cayenne doesn't diminish the sweetness, it just gives it a little kick.
The almonds thicken the soup and make it extremely filling.
This is a variation of A Slurp for Sore Eyes by Stacey Terry. The original recipe calls for fennel which I did not have in the house, so I just increased the amounts of some of the ingredients.
This sweet and fruity green smoothie is pure eye candy!!
Blend up and store in a huge jug or glass jar and refrigerate till you finish the smoothie. Make sure you shake up the jar well as the greens will settle out from the other ingredients.
This will last you for a few hours so take with you to sip along the way while running errands, doing the gym thing, or whatever you are doing for the day.
Arame is the most mild tasting of all sea vegetables. It is high in calcium, iodine, iron, magnesium, and vitamin A as well as being a good dietary source for many other minerals. Arame comes in dark brown strands, has a mild, semi-sweet flavor, and a firm texture.
Don't be scared by the prep time. Most of the 60 minutes is while your arame rehydrates and softens and to let your flavors marinate on the counter.
This recipe was sent to me by BAMATEACHER . Micki wrote about it in one of her blogs and it just sounded so good, refreshing but different.
The original recipe came from Summer Celery Salad (Purely Delicious magazine, Summer 2008) Happy Micki reads this magazine and shared it with us.
A great way to use all of that bumper crop of zucchini you either grow yourself or are given to you by your neighbors. You can make this as hot and spicy as you like by adding more hot garlic paste.
Different way to prepare your abundant crop of cucumbers from your garden. You can make it as hot and spicy as you wish.
Beet salad kicked up a notch. Raw beets are sweet like candy, a great addition to any salad. You can use canned beets if not following a Raw Diet. You can substitute jicama for the cabbage.
This just screams summer to me. I eat this whole bowl as a main course. The best part is it is so filling and only 280 calories for the entire bowl.
Refreshing Twist on a beet Salad. Raw beets are excellent for liver health.
It is not really tapioca but the chia seeds give it a similar texture. On my Raw Diet it is a treat for me as I love tapioca pudding.
Love using this as a salad dressing on a cabbage coleslaw. Just shred up 3 to 4 cups of cabbage and a large carrot, then pour salad dressing over and mix well. You can also use a precut package of cabbage slaw or broccoli slaw.
This would also be good with romaine salad greens, red peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, sprouts, and shredded carrots.
Raw Food need not be boring. The fresh ginger and garlic make this dish. Please do not leave out or use powdered. Add the cayenne and this dish offers some true Thai heat.
This recipe taste delicious wether you want to eat it raw or dehydrate it. If you dehydrate it, the cauliflower shrinks down and looks more like popcorn which is good for trying to trick kids into eating their vegetables.
You are going to want to double, triple, etc the batches because this will disappear real fast.
This recipe came from Raw Food Rehab. This recipe made 3 - 4" tartlets or double the recipe for a 9" pie pan.
Tweaked a recipe from a good Spark Buddy. Original recipe calls for using Raw Cashews (I had none on hand so I used sunflower seeds), did not call for Bob's Red Mill 10 Grain Cereal, and used a jalapeno instead of cayenne pepper.
A very crispy cracker that is loaded with taste between the grains, nutritional yeast and spices. Bob's Red Mill 10 Grain Cereal makes the recipe so good. It is a blend of 10 whole grains that are freshly ground and packaged. The grains are: wheat, rye, triticale, oats, oat bran, corn, barley, soybeans, brown rice, millet, and flaxseed. I couldn't afford to buy all of these separately and keep them fresh if I had to do this on my own. You must refrigerate as these are Raw whole grains that have been freshly ground.
I tweaked the original recipe that was written by Raw on $10 or Less to cut the fat calories down. Soup was still nice and creamy.
I eat this as part of my Raw Diet. It is very filling so I usually turn this into 2 mini meals. I will have it as a meal and save the rest for a snack.
I also do not use milk, even a Raw nut milk so I blend the bananna with water to use as my liquid base.
I love tapioca pudding and this is the closest Raw Version I have ever found or made.
I used Bob's Red Mill 100% Whole Grain 10 Grain Cereal because it is a blend of 10 whole grains in the Raw state as long as you don't cook it. It is a blend of freshly ground wheat, rye, triticale, oats, oat bran, corn, barley, soybeans, brown rice, millet, and flax.
Tart lemon, nutty walnuts and sesame seeds, rich coconut and smooth, sweet dates come together to make these delightfully refreshing treats.
The wonderful aroma of this soup is just the thing to come home to on a cold winter's day. Not only does it taste great (even spinach-haters have gobbled it up!), but it's quick and easy to make. It keeps for up to four days in the refrigerator.
I make a cabbage salad, yes another cabbage salad. Cabbage is good for you and I am constantly concocting new ways to eat it.
I eat the whole bowl which is really 4 servings. Zippo calories for an entire meal if you ask me but oh so healthy.
A good way to add increase the consumption of cruciferous vegetables that are packed with cancer-preventive phytonutrients.
Not your normal cole slaw. This is a healthy version loaded with surprises, packed with antioxidents and flavor.
It’s a dessert or afternoon treat to rival the best sundaes and scoops out there. Really, I can’t begin to do justice to how delicious this is! Even if you don’t eat a lot of fruit, it’s worth treating yourself to this one every now and then. Trust me. It’s also a sweet treat you can feel great feeding your kids. Dairy and soy and preservative free ice cream? Yes please!!
Nice casserole type dish for lunch or dinner. Very few itemsrequired. High protein due to the quinoa and very healthy yet appetizing.
Quinoa Soup with Spinach and Corn
Adapted from this recipe at Cucina Nicolina
She prefers chicken broth (especially Swanson’s low-sodium or Whole Foods regular), but you can certainly use vegetable broth if necessary. This soup is easy to play with, so add any dried or fresh herbs, or seasonings that sound good. If you really want to speed up the process, you could cook the mushrooms in a separate skillet while the quinoa is simmering.
