This recipe truly emulates everything we love about traditional Southern recipes for fried-chicken. The ingredients, texture and flavours are more authentic. And, it also manages to keep the calories in check so that you can enjoy some yummy side dishes. Once the chicken has been hammered and soaked in the butter milk, this recipe takes very little time to prepare and only 35 minutes in the oven at 350-375 depending on if your oven runs cool or hot. Mine runs cool so I use a heat of 375.
This is great with a low-fat vegetable au gratin (...recipe coming), and salad or coleslaw.

Well maybe that has something to do with why most of my everyday meals are made in just one pot. So if you are short on time, or just patience, this is an easy, flavourful, and healthy way to go.
IDEA: It is stated here that this serves 6 but you may divide it into 12 portions (recalculate the calories by half per serving in this case), and pair this entre with a small salad and 1/5 a cup of brown rice per serving.

This is a very yummy crispy chicken entre, which is so low in calories, it's easy to satisfy family and guests and still watch the calories. (This is so rich and delicious that no one will ever know) .The dark thigh-meat makes it rich and juicy, and goes great with coleslaw and whipped cauliflower.
