Homemade Digestive Biscuits

These cookies are similar to the store bought digestives, they are mildly sweet, hearty, and have a great, crumbly texture. Once cooled you can dip one side in melted chocolate to make chocolate digestives, although they are also delicious without it. They are lovely accompanied by a cup of tea. (Recipe given without chocolate)

Celery Root Soup

This recipe is very simple, and you can play around with quantities of the ingredients: add pear instead of apple, add potatoes for a less celery-ish taste, add more or less garlic. Add chili powder or white pepper.
You can also substitute onion for the leek if that is easier to find. For a richer soup add some half and half or cream just before serving.
Also, you can make this recipe vegan by using olive oil instead of butter.

simple fresh peach sorbet

With only three ingredients this recipe is easy to make and is a great way to use up summer peaches. It can also be made with frozen peaches if fresh are out of season.
