Easy and delicious low fat filling for wraps or atop greens
Good flavor. A good alternative to high calorie Alfredo Sauces. Adding the yogurt last keeps it from separating or curdling when cooking. Perfect over Pumpkin or Butternut Squash Ravioli with a pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Red lentil pasta is a great way to cut carbs and get some protein. The ground beef is for flavor more than for protein. To make this Vegan omit the beef and use veggie crumbles or cooked green lentils if desired. (But this will alter nutritional count) Serve with a tossed salad.
With Pre-made Wontons this soup is very quick to prepare and makes a very satisfying lunch or dinner.
These are time consuming but can be made earlier in the day or the night before, then stored covered tightly in the refrigerator. Or these can be frozen between layers of wax paper, thawed in refrigerator over night to be cooked in your favorite Won Ton Soup Base or my Soup Recipe for Meatless Monday Wonton Soup

Washing and preparing the chard accounts for much of the prep time in this recipe.
I've made this on the stove, or in the crockpot cooked on low for 8 hrs. If using crockpot brown the hamburger first.
It's even better the next day! Use lean stew meat in place of hamburger if desired. Extra lean ground beef is less expensive..
Garnish with a dollop of sour cream if desired, I don't do this and it's not in the nutrition count.

Use reduced sodium beef broth/consommé if desired.

Delicious main dish or side dish, this is a recipe from the back of a package of Crystal Farms Asiago and
Parmesan cheese blend. I made a couple of adaptations to lower the fat content.
If desired, sprinkle with bread crumbs before baking. .
This recipe is for the Betty Crocker Breadmaker. I don't know how it would work for other breadmakers but it works well in this breadmaker. It's a family favorite!
NOT very low cal, but it is low fat and delicious!
It may be easier to cut in larger slices and then cut the slice in half than to try to slice into 16 thinner slices.

Instead of 4 larger patties, make 8 smaller patties to stuff into a pita or wrap

I cook large amounts of beans and wild rice and keep them in 1 cup packages in the freezer to add to dishes. Lentils and rice could be subbed for the cooked kidney beans and wild rice.Adding cooked rice and beans early doesn't work so well.

I haven't tried cooking these, I was entering the recipe I found mainly to figure out nutrition count for my food plan. A woman in our church makes these for church functions and I want to be able to eat one and know how much nutrition to record.
substitute 1 teaspoon of double acting baking powder with 1/4 teaspoon baking soda plus 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar plus 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch. Let me know how it turns out.

Minnesota is famous for its wild rice paddys and it's fairly inexpensive locally. This meatless burger was an experiment for dinner one night Pinto beans could be substituted for the black but we think the black are better in just about everything!. The grains and beans make this a more complete protein. When cooking wild rice, set aside 1c. for the freezer. I cook the dry beans as a matter of preference and cutting grocery costs, but have used canned beans, rinsed and drained when out of my cooked beans. This can be mixed up in the morning and then cooked for the evening meal. I haven't tried freezing them yet. We just reheat in the microwave though they're best eaten right away!

I love General Tso's chicken but needed less fat and calories without sacrificing the taste. This satisfies that craving in a healthier way. However this sauce mix contains MSG and is not gluten free.
Wonderful served with wild or brown rice and a salad.

Easy to put together in the crockpot, healthy, and inexpensive. Add more mushrooms if desired or mushrooms of your choice if desired.
Barley could be used in place of the bulger.
Reduce the sodium in this recipe by making your own enchilada sauce (recipe elsewhere) and by roasting your own peppers (I used canned). This is easy and freezes well for a short time, reheat any leftovers in micro wave.
This could be vegan with the use of vegetable broth instead of chicken broth and omission of the yogurt to use a similar nondairy product. I also often use my Spiralizer for the sweet potatoes and onions to save chopping time. Also can use pickled jalapeno slices instead of fresh. This is fairly quick and easy to put together. It can also be cooked in the crockpot for 6-8 hours on low, adding the yogurt and cilantro before serving. It reheats well. (It's very good without the yogurt and cilantro too)
Serves 6, 1 chicken breast each. A bit of coconut and pineapple give this dish flavor of Hawaii but I've reduced calorie/fat grams from the recipe (originally from the a cereal box, Post Shredded Whea,t about 20 years ago). it's been a family favorite for years and cutting down the fat and calories makes it a no guilt treat for our family.
4 servings about 1/2 c. or 3 oz each.

Using a leaner turkey would decrease the fat and calories in this recipe.
Anni's recipe calls for 3 medium eggplants.
We increased the amount of Cinnamon from a pinch to a teaspoon to our personal preference.

Works well with leftover turkey too!
Stick your package of broccoli in the refrigerator the night before or thaw in microwave before mixing the ingredients. Spray casserole dish with cooking spray for easy clean up.
