This is a makeover of another recipe, adding some nutritional benefits.
Great lunch or 2 snacks to add protein to your day.
Nothing fancy, just yummy. Geary can't chew the cabbage and carrots so I shred it much finer in my Ninja. Perfect for him to enjoy and it doesn't change the flavor or nutritional value.
I experimented with a variety of veggies and rice until I found a combination we really like. Makes 3 servings.
I make this up and store in the original rice jar, using 1/2 cup measure at a time. 1/2-cup plus 1 1/2-cups water make 3 1/2-cup servings. Use cooking directions on rice jar.
A meal to prepare ahead and come home to that wonderful smell! Quick and easy!
This is a healthy twist on coleslaw. Low calorie, low fat, sugar-free. High in Potassium and Vitamins A and C.
Make your own snack packs using Ziploc snack size bags and a kitchen scale.
Use Ziploc snack size bags and make up your own, inexpensive snack packs to save money and calories.

Low sodium, low fat, and easy.
A slight remake of an old favorite
Thick and creamy, 178 calorie meal (or 89 calorie snack).
6 grams of fiber and 14.5 grams of protein, 0 cholesterol
Only 3 ingredients, healthy, inexpensive, and 64 calories.
If you use the microwave (rather than oven) to melt the chips, follow directions on package.
Great way to get in some more fruit with only 87 calories per serving.
Not overly sweet like store-bought muffins or those from a prepared box mix. Moist, chewy, nutritious and versatile! Sometimes it will be part of my breakfast, but usually a filling snack. I freeze them in individual baggies to keep moist, then gently warm for 7 seconds after thawed.
Crockpot creation, went over well at church potluck. They cleaned it up!
This makes a hearty meal. If you want to serve it before a meal, divide the servings into 8 bowls, instead of 4.
An ideal (and delicious!) way to pump up protein when you've had a low day.
This is a variation of the cereal package instructions.
I put this in the crockpot in the morning on low after browning beef. Easy, low fat, low sodium and high protein meal.
This is a high protein meal, fairly high in calories. Could be made into 2 smaller servings if desired.
Sanka is caffeine free. You can enjoy this any time of day. I double this recipe and keep it in a canister for quick use.
Next time I will buy the reduced fat coconut milk and change recipe.
Lower sodium preparation uses dried peas and soaked ham pieces. You can use lower sodium ham if you can find it. Made in the slow cooker, flavors mingle and supper is ready when you are! Serve with a side salad or bread choice. I like corn muffins with mine. High in potassium and vitamin A.
Great source of Vitamin A! For more festive serving, put a dollop of Cool Whip Free and a sprig of fresh mint on each serving. Garnich is not included in nutritional panel. You can use individual jello molds, too.
Delicious and healthy! If you are only going to eat one sandwich, divide egg salad into 3 portions, and refrigerate immediately what you are not eating. Do not make sandwiches and refrigerate or they will get soggy.
Need exra protein? Low fat way to get it!
Very high nutrition. This is a meal, not a snack.
Starting with a mix, adding healthy ingredients and reducing portion size make this a healthy alternative to corn muffins.
This is a remake of an old favorite, peach crisp. It doesn't crisp up like the topping with brown sugar and butter, so I did not call it a crisp. I served it with a dollop of Cool Whip Free. Those calories are not included in the recipe.
Protein and fiber rich! Because of the high fiber, they are very filling. High in nutrition, healthy fats, etc. If you like a sweet muffin, serve with honey or sugar-free jam.
I used Snickerdoodle flavored decaf coffee from the Amanas. Delish!
Modified from recipe on box of Hodgson Mill Milled Flax Seed. These are very good and high in Omega-3. They smell wonderful while baking and are very good! I froze some of them so I wouldn't be tempted to snack on them.
I use the Seasoned Four Grain Rice recipe and make up 4 1/2 cup baggies for freezer.
Rice Select Royal Blend Rice is available at Target.
A lunch for one or snack for two.
Lower in fat and sodium than my old version, but not as healthy as the version using Egg Beaters.
Lowest-fat and lowest-sodium version of my old favorite. Also, much lower cholesterol.
This is an adaptation of the package directions.
This is a sugar-free rendition of an old family favorite.
I used a food processor to chop all ingredients, so it only took less than 5 minutes.
Adapted form a banana cake recipe on cake mix box. I used apple carrot pulp from juicer for the grated apples and carrots in the recipe. I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil.
This is my adaptation using Hodgson Mill Multigrain cereal. Is using another brand or type, nutrition will be different.
I used the recipe from the box, added raisins, cinnamon and syrup to make a delicious hot breakfast for 5. I refrigerate the hot cereal in a loaf pan overnight, then cut it into 4 servings to reheat the next 4 mornings for myself.
Stoneyfield Farm brand yogurt has 6 active probiotics as compared to 3 in most other brands. You can add other pumpkin pie spices, like nutmeg, cloves, etc. A can of pumpkin is 2 cups. Slice into 4 sections, wedge each slice into 6 pieces, and freeze on a cooky sheet. When frozen, transfer to freezer bags to have ready for smoothies.
Pair this with some fresh fruit or fruit salad for a complete meal. Serves 2
Delicious and nutritious - a meal by itself.
Healthy scramble for 2.
Using canned chicken and soup and frozen potatoes and vegetables makes this preparation go quickly. However, it also makes it higher in sodium.
Starting with a bread mix, and using a bread machine, this preparation is fast. The 220 minutes is not a typo. I used the number from my bread machine. It is the amount of time for a whole wheat loaf, start to finish.
You can use flavored coffee or add flavoring to regular coffee. There may be a slight variation in nutrients. You need an espresso machine to make the coffee.
You must have a juicer to make this. Very simple and delicous.
A slight variation from the package recipe. I use macadamia nut oil for a little different flavor.
Stoneyfarm yogurt has 6 active probiotics, compared to most that have 3.
Quick and easy, high nutrition shake. The Stoneyfarm yogurt has 6 probiotics, as compared to 3 in most others.
I use delicious apples from our tree, but you can use any eating apple.
My mother-in-law raised 6 kids on this. I made it for my husband tonight and he liked it, but said that his Mom's had more liquid in it. She probably added the potato water, which I didn't do.
This serves 1 for a meal or 2 for a snack. Stoneyfield yogurt has 6 active probiotics, so if you substitute, the nutrition will not be the same. this is both low-fat and sugar-free.
Used mix, modified with substitutions.
My own makeover of an old favorite. Less fat and sodium, more veggies.
Simple, tasty, and healthy.
This is my own healthy makeover of one of my favorites. Even my husband liked this!
