still not sure why there is no "bread" category but this is a lovely yeast bread, i make it every week and can definitely be cut in half or by 2/3 for 1 loaf. This makes 3-4 loaves depending on the size.
Delicious and very filling. Optional - make heartier by adding some chunks of flanken meat.
WARNING!! these are excellent crunchy and sort of pretzel like but a LOT of work. make on a day when you've got tons of time and patience. Not a whip it up in a minute recipe. if u cannot find anise anywhere, u can substitute caraway seed. not quite the same but similar!
