We use yellow onion because we have family allergic to red onion. If using red onion there's no need for the skillet.
This is an easy way to prepare breakfast cereal ahead of time. Store in an airtight container and use 2/3 cup of mix for each serving. Add water or milk and some vanilla extract at time of preparation. If using milk you may want to leave out the whey protein. I use the microwave to cook, however stovetop or slow-cooker will work just as well.
