Banana Smoothie

1 medium ripe banana (preferably cold)6 cubes of ice1 cup cold skim milk1 tsp sugar (optional)a few drops vanilla essencea few drops coconut essence (optional)
Place ice cubes into a blender and crush. Place all other ingredients into blender and blend until thick. You may wish to slice up the banana before blending, especially if it is very cold. The colder the milk and banana, the thicker the smoothie.
Many Variations: Replace banana with your favorite fruit. You can also replace the coconut essence with rum essence. Some fruits, especially tart ones, go better with water instead of milk, for a more slushie effect than smoothie. For slushies you may also replace the vanilla essence with lemon juice.
