Plain Daal - 1.5 cups

Ingredients
*Raw Toor dal - 0.5 cup, 2 serving (remove)*ghee (clarified butter), 1 tsp (remove)*Canola Oil, 1 1tsp (remove)Mustard seed, yellow, 1 tsp (remove)*Cumin seed, 1 tsp (remove)Salt, 0.85 tsp (remove)*jaggery, 1.5 tsp (remove)Lime Juice, 0.5 lime yields (remove)
Directions
Wash and pressure cook dal in 3 cups water with salt, jaggery and a pinch of turmeric. Final consistency should be thick and spoonable not watery.

Heat oil+ghee. Add cumin, mustard and when they start spluttering add a pinch of hing. Pour over hot dal, stir.
Turn off heat and add a dash of lemon juice. Serve hot over basmati rice.
