Simple Stuffed Bell Peppers (Green or Yellow)

4 Yellow or Green Bell Peppers1 lb Ground Turkey1/4 tsp Salt1/4 tsp pepper1 can (8 oz) Tomato Sauce1 cup Soft Bread Crumbs (2 slices) (whole wheat)1 cup grated cheese or 6 American cheese slices1 clove garlic (optional)
Cut tops off of Bell Peppers and remove veins and seeds. Keep tops. Precook Peppers in boiling water for 3 mins. (Do not fully cook). Brown Ground Turkey in Skillet, add chopped tops of Bell Peppers. (not seeds, veins, or stalk). After Turkey is Browned add salt, pepper, onions, garlic (optional), and tomato sauce. Then Add crumbs and mix. Fill the peppers. Sit filled peppers in baking dish with 1/4 cup of water in the dish. Bake at 350 degree's for 30-40 mins. When peppers are within the last ten minutes of baking, remove and place cheese on tops and continue to cook peppers.
