2 Tbs Olive Oil3 garlic cloves1 Tbs crushed red pepper flakes (more if you like REALLY spicy food)1/2 cup capers, drained, reserve 1 Tbs of liquid1 cup kalamata olives1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes1 tsp. sugarSalt and Pepper to taste1 lb fussili pasta
- Cook pasta according to directions on the package
- In a large pan or sauce pot, sautee garlic and crushed red pepper flakes in olive oil, approximately 1 minute or until fragrant
- Add capers and reserved liquid
- Cook approximately 2 minutes
- Add olives
- Cook approximately 2 minutes
- Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, and pepper
- Stir to combine
- Cook to gentle simmer, approximately 10 minutes
- Add cooked pasta to same pot as the sauce, stir to combine
- Enjoy!
