Grandma's German Potato Salad

Ingredients
10 potatoes, peeled and diced1 cup carrots, peeled and diced1 lb. bacon, raw and diced2 medium onions, diced6 stalks celery, diced1 1/2 cups vinegar1 1/2 cups sugar2 cups Water, cold3 T Salt 2 T Pepper
Directions
Peel and dice potatoes and carrots. In large pot, boil till tender, drain and set aside. In same pot, fry chopped bacon till crisp, add onion and celery and cook till tender. Combine vinegar, sugar, starch and water; add to pot and boil till thick. Add potatoes and carrots, stir, and simmer for 10 minutes.
