2 eggs, well beaten1 c. 1% milk4 T. SACO buttermilk blend powder3 T. salad oil3/4 c. white flour3/4 c. whole wheat flour3/4 t. baking soda1 T. sugar1/2 tsp. saltpinch nutmeg
Mix the eggs, milk and oil in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the flours, baking soda, sugar, salt, buttermilk powder and nutmeg. Add dry ingredients to egg/milk mixture. Stir to blend.
This recipe was developed for the George Foreman grill using waffle plates. Heat grill to medium-high. When it reaches temperature, spray with nonstick vegetable spray. Use about 1/2 c. batter to each side of waffle plate. Close lid, cook until steam just about stops.
Can be made without buttermilk powder by substituting buttermilk for milk.
