Barbecued Hamburger Mix

Ingredients
4 lbs ground beef1 c. chopped onion14 oz catsup1 cup water1/2 c. chopped celery1/4 c lemon juice2 tbls brown sugar1 tbls Worcestershire sauce1 tbls salt2 tsp vinegar1/2 tsp dry mustard
Directions
In Dutch oven, cook and stir ground beef and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Stire in remaining ingredients; heat to boiling, stirring frequently.

Reduce heat. cover tightly; simmer 30 minutes. Cool; divide among pint-freezer containers and freeze for future use. Or, use portion of hot mixture for variations below; freeze remainder.

Note: To thraw frozen Mix, heat slowly in saucepan, thaw in refrigerator or microwave.

Variations:

Baked Frank Rolls: If desired stir 1 cup sredded cheese into 1 pint mix. split 8 to 10 frankfurter buns, spoon mixture into buns. Wrap individually in foil. Heat in 350 oven 30 to 35 minutes.

Easy chili: Stir 1 can (15.75 oz) kidney beans with liquid, 1/2 to 1 cuup tomatoe juice and 2 to 3 tsp. chili powder into 1 pint of mix. Heat through.

Mock pizza: Split 6 to 8 hamburger buns; toast. Place on rack in broiler pan. spoon 1 pint mix on halves. sprinkle with shredded cheese and dash oregano. Broil 3 - 4 inches from heat just until cheese is bubbly.
