Slow Cooker Pinto Beans and Ham

Ingredients
1lb of dry pinto beans, sorted and rinsed1lb of ham (hambone is fine)water to coversalt and pepper to taste1 jalapeno, minced1/3 a large onion, minced
Directions
Cover beans and ham with double the volume of water (for example, two cups of beans would be about 4-5 cups of water.), cook in slow cooker on low for 8-9 hours, checking water levels every few hours. Add minced onion and jalapeno with salt/pepper to taste. Cook 30 minutes more.

    Sorry about the confusion. I just put the ham in with the water and beans as it cooks overnight. the ham falls apart and is completely tender.
