* Turkey, Ground turkey, 93% lean, 1 lb * Dry TVP, 1 cup * Ketchup, 1 cup * Worchestershire Sauce, 1 tbs * Onions, raw, 1 large * Green Peppers (bell peppers), 1 cup, chopped * Pepper, black, 1 tsp * Minced Garlic, 1 tbs * Salt, 1 tsp * Brown Sugar, 0.25 cup, packed
Brown the turkey, onions, peppers, and garlic in a large pan. Add remaining ingredients, and enough water to reconstitute the TVP (The amount of water affects how "saucy" the joes are, so I have not included it in the recipe ingredient list.)
Simmer for 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is the consistency you want.
This makes about 8 servings.
We usually have this over corn bread, but it is just as tasty in a whole wheat bun.
