4 cups water2 cups canned crushed tomato6 lamb shanks1 onion sliced5 garlic cloves whole4 carrots sliced 1 parsnip sliced1/4 head of cabbage diced1/2 small rutabaga diced1 celery stalk diced1 cup celery root diced2 bayleaf4-5 juniper berries (can be omitted).5 tsp tarragon.5 tsp oregano1 tsp red pepper flakes.5 tsp black pepper crushed salt to taste
serves 6 (4 oz meat each)
In large pot add the water ,meat ,spices , vegetables and chopped tomato.
Bring to a boil , lower heat let simmer for apx. 2 hours,or untill meat is really tender.You can remove meat from bones before serving,to make sure the weight is correct.
Serve with rice or potatoes.Even just a salad.
