Slow Cooker African Sweet Potato Stew with variations

Ingredients
2 small sweet potatoes peeled and chopped into bite sized pieces8 oz butternut squash, peeled and chopped into bite sized pieces1 small onion chopped1 lg clove garlic minced1 jalapeno minced1 1/2 tsp cumin1/4 tsp turmeric1/4 tsp ground ginger1/8 tsp ground coriander1/8 tsp ground cinnamon1/4 tsp salt1 1/2 cups water heated1 can drained rinsed chickpeas1 can drained rinsed roasted tomatoes1/4 cup natural peanut butterCilantro for garnish
Directions
heat the water first and have ready.
In the crock pot put the chopped onions, minced garlic and jalapeno, cubed up sweet potato and squash, chickpeas, tomatoes , peanut butter and all the spices.
Cover with the water.
Cook on medium, if you have that setting for 4-6 hours. (My crockpot only has low and high. I used the high setting for 4 hours.)
Serve with chopped fresh cilantro as garnish
