1/2 # ground beef, fried, and drained6 strips bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled1/4 cup white sugar1/4 cup brown sugar, packed1/4 cup ketchup1# can kidney beans, drained and rinsed1# can pork and beans1# can butter beans, drained and rinsed1/2 cup onions, chopped
Place all ingredients in crock pot and cook on high until onions are transparent.
To make lower sodium, be sure to rinse kidney and butter beans and use no sodium ketchup. I also found low salt bacon. This will reduce the sodium to 270 mg per serving.
(low sodium bacon = 80mg/strip or 40mg/serving, low sodium kidney beans = 58mg /serving, drained and rinsed butter beans = 51mg per serving, no sodium ketchup - 0mg / serving, ground beef = 6.5mg/serving, Van Kamps beans (not drained or rinsed) = 114 mg per serving)
