Esther's Caramel Cookies

Ingredients
1 c. butter melted4 c. brown sugar packed6 c flour1 Tblsp baking soda1 Tblsp cream of tartar1 tsp. salt1 tsp vanilla (opt)
Directions
cream melted butter and brown sugar. Add other dry ingredients. Separate into 4 units. Roll each unit into a tube approx 12 inches long. Refrigerate at least 2 hours, or you can freeze. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
