1 package tempeh cubed - cubed2 tablespoons brown sugar1 tablespoon molasses 2 teaspoon onion powder2 teaspoon garlic powder1 1/2 teaspoon paprika1/2 teaspoon chili powder1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce3 tablespoons tomato paste2.5 tablespoon cider vinegar1 tablespoon vegetarian worchester sauce1 teaspoon liquid smokeblack pepper to taste
Put everything in the crockpot and mix well. Cook on low for 8 hours.
Serve on whole wheat buns topped with coleslaw. (Bun and coleslaw NOT included in calorie count.

GUTSYGOURMET
I threw this in the crock pot yesterday morning and when I walked in the door 7 hours later, I was met with an overwhelming burnt smell! The BBQ Tempeh was burnt to a crisp! STRONGLY suggest adding more liquid of some kind or watch very closely. Can't rate because I didn't taste it. Might try again. - 4/13/12

I loved this recipe! I accidentally added 32 oz of tomato sauce which I think added some good body to it but turned it kind of more into sloppy joe style. I also added about 1/2 onion which I thought went nicely in it, too. I used 8 oz of tempeh, but I think you could double it if you wanted. - 8/17/11
