Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients
4 Sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into long, thick slices1 cup sugar1 stick butter or margarineCinnamon to taste1 cup Water
Directions
Put all ingredients in an electric skillet or large cast iron frying pan. Cook slowly until potatoes are soft, but still firm and sugar has formed a thick syrup.
