Whole Wheat Pasta with Braised Greens

Ingredients
2 Tbsp olive oil1 medium onion, peeled and sliced2 cloves garlic1 cup crimini mushrooms, sliced1/2 half pound whole wheat ziti or rotelli4 cups braised greens4 cups of mixed braising greens
Directions
Set 4 qts of water to boil. Meantime add oil to skillet and saute onion until it starts to brown. Add garlic, saute one minute. Add mushrooms, saute until they release their moisture. Remove skillet from heat. Add pasta to boiling water and cook according to package instructions. Add braising greens to cooking pasta during last 5 minutes of cooking time. Drain pasta and greens, retaining one cup of cooking water. Add pasta, greens and one cup of retained pasta water to skillet with sauted onions and mushrooms, toss, and heat through. Serve immediately with parmesan cheese if desired.
