1 tsp of Olive Oil2 cloves of minced garlic1 tsp of Onion powder or 1/2 cup of onions(I'm allergic to the skin of onions so I just add onion powder)5 tsp of oregano2.5 tsp of Hot Mexican chili powder5 tsp of dried basil1/4 tsp of pepper1 tsp of salt1 tsp of sugar1/4 tsp of cumin1 tsp of parsley flakes1/2 cup of salsa15 oz of tomato sauce1.5 cup of water
Heat oil in a large deep skillet over a medium heat. Add garlic for 2 mins and saute. Add all the spices and salsa and tomato and sugar and mix together over low heat.
Mix in water and stirring in together. turn up heat and bring to a boil. Then turn down to a low heat and simmer for 20 mins. You can add Texas Pete for some spice we did and it was yummy. Also a little vinegar can take some twang out. This is one of those recipes that can be played w/.
