.25 cup Kidney beans, light.25 cup Kidney beans, dark.25 cup Lentils.25 cup Navy beans.25 cup Great Northern beans.25 cup Split peas.25 cup Black beans.25 cup Pinto beans.25 cup Baby Lima beans5 Turkey Sausages, diced.5 Large onion, diced3 Stalks celery2 cups Carrots, diced2 cups mushrooms, sliced32 oz. Okra, frozen and sliced2 cloves Garlic (or more)4 tsp. Chicken Base10 cups Water1 cup Tomatoes, Crushed3 Chipotle peppers, diced.5 tsp. Black pepper1 tsp. Oregano.5 tsp. Basil
Makes 12- two cup servings
Measure all your beans in a bowl. Check for unwanted articles while rinsing with cold water. Pour drained beans in crock pot. Dice the turkey sausages, onions,celery, and carrots. Place in crock pot. Slice mushrooms. Put in pot. Dump okra in on the top.
Heat two cups of water to a boil (or Microwave). Add in the garlic and chicken base. When base is dissolved, pour over everything and add eight more cups of water.
Put heat on high for seven hours. Then turn to medium and check liquids. Add crushed tomatoes, chipotle peppers, spices and water, if needed and cook on medium one more hour.
