New improved Sourthern biscuits and gravy

Ingredients
1 lg. onion, chopped3 tbsp. flour2 c. skim milk1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms with liquid1/2 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. pepper8 refrigerated biscuits, prepared as directed (I used Philsbury Home Style Grands ButtermilkPan Spray or a tbsp of I can't believe its not butter.
Directions
Spray heavy skillet with release agent. Add onion. Cook until translucent. Stir in flour. Add milk and mushrooms with liquid. Cook until thick. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve over biscuits. Doubled, this recipe makes a large pan full.
