  • Number of Servings: 7
Ingredients
Dry:1 cup white ww flour1/4 c truvia natural sweetener1 tsp baking powder1/4 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp salt1/8 tsp nutmegWet:1/4 cup plain, fat free Greek yogurt1/4 c egg beaters2 tbsp applesauce2 tbsp sugar free maple syrup1 (overflowing) tsp maple extractfor glaze/frosting:1/2 cup powdered xylitol (z-sweet brand)1/2 tsp maple extract2 + tsp water (to desired consistency) (I always use 2.5 tsp)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F.
In a medium sized bowl whisk together dry ingredients.
In a small bowl whisk together liquid ingredients.
Stir wet into dry until just mixed.
Transfer dough to donut pan (will require some manipulation with your hands--the batter is quite thick, but that's good!)
Bake for 9-10 minutes.
Meanwhile whisk together all glaze ingredients until smooth. When donuts are done and removed from pan (try to let them cool slightly--I never have the patience though!) paint on the glaze/icing with a pastry brush.
Enjoy!

With the white whole wheat flour, these tasted very bread-like. That's not a bad thing for me personally, but I wouldn't use WW for other people. The taste is a bit odd. I'll try them again with white flour. I know it's not as nutritious, but hey, these are donuts! :) Thanks for the recipe! - 1/4/13

Great idea, but the baking powder and baking soda make this entirely IMPOSSIBLE to be only 36.7mg of sodium/serving. I very closely track all my nutrition info with Myfitnesspal.com and I'm unhappy that I feel 'tricked' into thinking this was a low sodium treat. That being said, it was still good. - 1/14/13

Careful with the xylitol. It's been found to be toxic to dogs. - 8/15/13

OMG this sounds so delicious. I saved it to my recipes and will try it when I get the flour. Yum, can't wait. - 9/17/18

I used straight whole wheat flour, splenda instead of truvia, and I didn't have the maple extract - so used vanilla. I also ended up using the tried and true powdered sugar and vanilla glaze instead of the recommended. I just brushed it on lightly. Higher calories, but good. - 3/9/15
