Brown Rice, Low Sodium

Ingredients
1/2 cup dry brown rice3 cups of water1 tsp onion powder
Directions
1. Begin boiling the 3 cups of water.

2. Measure rice into a mesh strainer and rinse for 10 seconds in cold water add this to the water.

3. put onion powder in the pot with rice and water, stir & cover. Allow to boil on med-med high heat for 30 min, being careful not to boil the pot dry.

4. Turn off burner, drain rice in mesh strainer and then return the rice to original pot and cover, allowing rice to steam for another 15 minutes using its own heat from the lidded pot and the rice itself.
