Mom's Famous Salsa

Ingredients
12 Large Ripe Tomatoes8-12 Jalapenos1 large white Onion1 clove Garlic1 c. white Vinegar1 tsp. Sweet Basil1 tsp. Salt1 tsp. Chili Powder
Directions
Peel and quarter the tomatoes
(drop them in boiling water for 1 minute to make them easy to peel)
Finely chop jalapenos and onions and garlic, add to tomatoes in a large pot (it's best do this with a chopper or mincer-so as not to burn your hands)
Add vinegar, sweet basil, salt and chili powder
Cook down for about 2 hours or until proper consistency.

Makes approximately 4 1/2 pints or
18 1/2 cup servings
