3/4 cup granulated sugar1/3 cup all purpose flour2 cups non-fat milk2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped3 egg yolks, beaten2 tbsp. unsalted butter1 tsp. vanilla extract
In a saucepan set over medium heat, combine the sugar, flour, milk, and chocolate and heat until it begins to boil and thicken. Add some of the mixture into the beaten egg yolks to slowly heat them, preventing them from curdling, and then add the egg yolks back into the pan and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla until no longer visible. Pour the mixture into serving dishes and allow them to cool in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until completely cool.
