Cracker Barrel Green Beans

Ingredients
1/4 lb sliced bacon3 cans green beans with liquid (14.5 oz cans)1/4 yellow onion1 teaspoon granulated sugar1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
In a 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, cook bacon until lightly brown, but not crisp. When bacon is browned, add green beans. Add salt, sugar and pepper and mix well. Place onion on top of green beans.
Cover saucepan with lid and bring to a light boil. Turn heat down to low and simmer for 45 minutes.

    This is very similar to a recipe for low carbers on Genaw.com. I am doing a makeover to reflect this and a few personal preferences - such as lower sodium changes. We sometimes use a meaty pork bone instead of bacon. Family favorite!! - 1/22/14
