Turkey Chili with Lentils

Ingredients
12 oz. ground turkey1 small onion, chopped2 15.5 oz. cans Dark Red Kidney Beans2 14.5 oz. cans Petite Diced Tomatoes1 15 oz. can Low Sodium Tomato Sauce1/2 cup dried lentils1 tbs. garlic powder1 tbs. ground cumin1/2 tbs. chili powder1/2 tbs. black pepper
Directions
Saute onions in a large skilllet. Add turkey to skillet and season with 1/2 tbs. garlic and 1/2 tbs. cumin. Once turkey is browned, transfer to slow cooker and add remaining ingredients. Cook on low 2-3 hours or until lentils reach desired softness.

    This was delicious! I made some changes, though. I used red onion instead or white or yellow, increased the lentils to 1 cup, used black lentils, added a green pepper, and added two cans of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies. (I like my chili with a little zing to it. :-) ) - 11/2/18
