Beef Chuck/Lentil Stew

Ingredients
1 lb. Beef Chuck (lean & trimmed)1/2 cup white wine1 large onion chopped2 cups celery1 cup diced carrots1 cup diced potato1 cup diced turnips2 cups ready to cook lentils1 tsp. thyme4 cups waterSalt & Pepper to taste
Directions
In large pot bbrown beef well until the entire bottom of pan is browned. Add wine, salt and pepper and thyme. Simmer just until the brown bottom of the pan is incorporated into the wine. Add half of water and cook until meat is tender (add more water as needed). Add the additional ingredients, including remaining water water and cook for approimately 1/2 hour until indredients are done. Add, water as preferred.

Makes approimately 8 1-cup serving.
