Add cooked beef. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes. Remove lid, add fat free sour cream and simmer for 10 minutes.

Makes six 1 cup servings.

This recipe does not include any pasta. I served it with wheat rotini pasta. Traditionally it is served with egg noodles.

This was very good. I used egg noodles. Since I was taking it to someone's house, I added the cooked noodles instead of dishing out separately. I added the sour cream at the last. My mistake was adding too many noodles. Everyone liked it anyway. - 12/22/08

Very tasty! I was a little concerned about things turning purple from the red wine, but it tasted so great that I didn't even care. - 12/3/08

Very good. We used 1/2c cranberry juice, 1/2c beef broth instead of wine. - 8/10/08

My family was eating the regular, fattier stroganoff next to me. This was so good that I didn't even feel like I was missing out on anything. Delicious. - 4/4/08

I actually made a 2-serving version of this recipe by dividing everything by 3 and used leftover steak from a restaurant meal. Delicious!! It made an ordinary evening of reheated steak into something absolutely wonderful! - 2/16/08

Used ground beef because that's all I had, cooked together with onions and garlic for one minute then drained. Follow the directions after that, but thickened up the sauce some with corn starch and 1/3 c of cold water. - 1/2/11

I really liked the flavor, but the flour made the sauce too thick (gravy-like...especially the next day). Also, the beef was overdone. Next time, I will cut out the flour and add the beef at the end to prevent overcooking. - 11/22/09
