Ham, Green Lentil and White Bean Soup

Ingredients
1 meaty ham bone6 cups water2 bay leaves1 c. dried french green lentils1/2 c. dried great northern beans2 c. sliced carrots1/2 small onion, diced2 stalks celery, diced1-2 tsp thyme1 1/2 c. (1 can) diced tomatoes
Directions
Place ham bone and water in crockpot. Cook on high heat for 2 hours. Remove bone and all separable fat and gristle.
Place dried lentils, beans, bay leaves and veggies (not tomatoes) in crockpot. Cook for 2 more hours on high, or 4 houts on low. (can cook longer if necessary) Thirty minutes before serving, adding tomatoes.
