BBQ style vegetarian black beans

Ingredients
3 cups dry black beans, sorted and rinsed10 cups tap water1 tbsp smoked paprika1 tbsp cumin powder1.5 tbsp onion powder1 tsp black pepper3 whole garlic cloves, peeled1/4 cup of each of the following: 100% real maple syrup molasses packed brown sugar tomato ketchup your favorite barbecue sauce (I used "Sweet Baby Ray's)
Directions
Cook the beans in the slow cooker in JUST the water for about 4 hours. After four hours, the beans should be soft enough for you to add the other ingredients. (Some ingredients severely delay cooking time of beans, especially garlic and onions). Cook for an additional 2-4 hours, so that the water in the beans thickens.
