Norwegian Kringla

Ingredients
Directions
2 tsp shortening1 tsp baking powder1 1/4 cup sugar1 tsp baking soda1 cup sour cream1/2 tsp nutmeg1 cup milk1/2 tsp salt1 tsp vanilla3 1/2 cups flour
Add just enough flour to bring to rolling consistency (dough will still be a little sticky).
Roll to about ¼" thickness and cut into strips - a pizza cutter works really well.
Shape into figure 8 or pretzel shape and bake until light brown in a 375°F oven, approx 8-10 minutes.
Cool between layers of towel (like done with lefse) to keep the bread moist.
Store in air tight container for use within a few days or freeze.
