Tomato Noodles

Ingredients
Directions
3c. elbow or shell macaroni (enriched or whole grain)1tbsp. butter1c. diced onion1pt canned whole or diced tomatoes1tbsp. salt (for boiling pasta)pepper to taste
Pasta:
Add salt to water for boiling macaroni. Boil pasta until "al dente" and drain. Do not rinse pasta.
Tomatoes:
Saute onion in butter until clear. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and pepper to taste. Simmer for 10 minutes covered or until other entrees are ready. Add to pasta just before serving.
This could easily be adapted to be a main course by adding ground beef or turkey, but I like it just as it is.
