Pella Apple Bread

Ingredients
1 c sugar1/2 c butter1/4 c sour milk or buttermilk1 t soda2 eggs1 t vanilla2 c flour1/2 t salt2 c finely chopped apple1/2 c nutsTopping:4 T soft butter4 T sugar4 T flour2 t cinnamon
Directions
Cream sugar and butter. Combine milk and soda. Stir into creamed mix. Add eggs, vanilla, flour and salt. Beat well. Stir in apples and nuts. Put in greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Mix topping ingredients. Drop by bits on batter and press lightly with a fork. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 60 minutes. Freezes well.
