beer chicken in the crockpot

Ingredients
4 chicken thighs - seasoned to taste as for roasting1 large potato, sliced2 carrots, pared and sliced1/2 cup mushrooms, quartered2 stalks of celery, chopped1 large onion, sliced1 12 oz can of beerto taste: garlic cloves, pepper
Directions
Place hard vegetables in the crockpot first. Layer onions and garlic, if used, on top. Pour one can of beer over the vegetables. Season chicken thighs as if to roast - I like Johnny's. Place on top. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
