This was incredibly easy and came out with the texture of regular applesauce. I am so happy to have found this recipe. I have to agree about the spices though, I cut them to less than half and it was still too strong. I think next time I would do 2 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp nutmeg. - 12/13/09

I was doubtful about this, but it totally worked! This is the PERFECT way to make applesauce when it's 105˚ outside and you don't want to use the stove. I won't put nearly as much spice in the second batch (personal preference) but this is how I'm making sauce from now on! - 7/12/09

GOOD, BUT I WONDER IF THE NUTMEG QUANTITY IS CORRECT!? IT TURNED OUT WAY, WAY TOO STRONG. 2TBSP OF NUTMEG IS A LOT, I WONDER IF IT SHOULD BE 2TSP....I ADDED ANOTHER 4 CUPS OF APPLES (WITH NO ADDITIONAL SPICE) TO THE FIRST BATCH OF SPICED APPLES....THAT TURNED OUT GREAT. THE RECIPE IS GOOD. - 6/25/08

cat, that sounds awesome! i like that you don't break down all the vitamins by cooking. so you use the apples unpeeled yes? i'll try that! - 4/2/08
