Vanilla Custard

Ingredients
2 cups milk1/4 cup sugar1/8 t salt5 egg yolks2 t sugar2 T cornstarch2 T butter2 t vanilla extract
Directions
Combine 1/4 cup sugar, salt, and milk. Bring to a simmer. Whisk egg yolks, cornstarch, and 2 t sugar together in a bowl. While continually stirring, slowly add a small amount of hot liquid to egg mixture. Gradually add more hot liquid until it is all combined. Heat sauce until thickened but do not boil. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla extract. Serve with strawberries or other fruit.
