Ingredients
Directions
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon celery seed 1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum6 ounce can tomato paste 1 1/2 cups water 1/4 cup rice vinegar (or white vinegar)1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon dark or blackstrap molasses2 tablespoons liquid smoke Liquid stevia to taste (I used 1/4 teaspoon)
Combine in a small bowl or custard cup, all of the spices and the Xanthan gum. Set aside.
In a saucepan whisk together the tomato paste, rice vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, molasses, and liquid smoke. Whisk in the spice mix. Cook and stir over medium heat until bubbly. Add liquid stevia to taste. Then let simmer, covered, over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot. Cool and store in a glass jar in the fridge. This will keep for several weeks or more.
Serving Size: Makes 2-1/2 cups or twenty 2-tablespoon servings
