L.R. chocolate muffins

Ingredients
2 2/3 cups whole wheat flour1 1/3 cups sugar1/2 cup baking cocoa1 1/2 tsp. baking soda1/2 tsp. salt3 eggs1 1/4 cup applesauce1 1/2 cups buttermilk1/4 cup oil1 tsp. vanilla1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
in a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs, applesauce, buttermilk, oil and vanilla with a whisk. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips. Divide between 24 greased muffin cups. Bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes. Yield: 24 muffins.
