T's nut-n-chip brownies

Ingredients
2 cups granulated sugar1 cup splenda no calorie sweeter1 cup butter, melted1 tablespoon vanilla extract4 large eggs1 1/2 cups flour1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder1 tsp salt1 tsp baking soda2 tsp hot water1 cup chocolate chips1 cup pecans, optional
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease 9 X 13 inch baking pan. In large bowl combine sugar, splenda and melted butter. Add vanilla extract. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Sift in flour, cocoa powder and salt, add to mixture in small batches. Stir after each addition until well combined. In small bowl mix hot water and baking soda. Add to mixture in large bowl and stir well. Add chocolate chips and nuts, if desired, stir until all is well blended. Pour mixture into 9 X 13 inch baking pan. Bake for 40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in middle come out clean. Allow to cool in pan for 1 hour, cut into 24 pieces.
