Great Aunt Trudy Thompson's Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients
4 boiled sweet potatoes1/2 cup butter1 cup sugar1/4 cup water1 orange halved and slicedpecan halves to scatter on top
Directions
cut cooked potatoes in half and arrange in a shallow baking dish in a single layer.
Heat butter, sugar and water until syrupy
Pour syrup over potatoes
Bake uncovered at 375 degrees until syrup candies, basting 2-3 times.
