45 g Cornstarch 250 ml Milk 20 g Granulated Sugar Batter: 75 ml Water 100 g Flour 1/5 tsp Salt 1 tsp Baking powder
Mix granulated sugar, and cornstarch in a saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute; remove from heat. Spread evenly in ungreased square dish. Refrigerate uncovered at least 3 hours until firm.
To prepare the batter, you mix water, flour and salt first and add baking powder at the time you start frying the milk.
Heat oil to 180C/355F, fry 2 or 3 squares at a time in oil 1 to 2 minutes or until light brown; drain on paper towels. Dripping with some vanilla syrup or sprinkle with powdered sugar
