uncle tom's beef stew

Ingredients
1 medium onion chopped3 carrots sliced1.5 lbs. lean beef cubed2 qrts. water8 beef boullion cubes3 Tbls. cornstarch3 Tbls. water8 okra sliced3 medium potato cubed1 14 oz. can diced tomato1/2 cup minute rice1/2 cup pearl barley3 cloves garlic chopped1 Tbls. parsley1 Tbls. basil1 bay leaf1 Tbls. thyme1 Tbls. rosemary2 Tbls. worcestershire sauce2 Tbls. balsamic vinegar3 Tbls. A/1 sauceolive oil
Directions
add olive oil to medium stock pan heat on medium-high add beef and cook till 1/2 browned
then add onion and garlic cook till meat is done
add tomato and water about 2 quarts bring to a low boil then add boullion cubes along with carrot potato okra worcestershire balsamic vinegar A/1 sauce and all spices lower heat to simmer and cook for about 1.5 hours stiring a few times leave cover slightly off edge at 1.5 hours add rice and barley now mix cornstarch with water and bring stew to a boil add cornstarch slowly to stew mixing the whole time when stew thickens cover and turn off till ready to serve
