Ingredients
5 c sliced strawberries 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 c plus 1 tbsp sugar
Directions
Slice strawberries into bowl large enough to hold them.
Add 1 tbsp sugar per cup of sliced, ripe berries and 1 tsp vanilla, and let sit for 10 minutes or so.
Stir lightly to combine and allow to sit another 10 minutes or so to ensure berries will provide juice for dessert options such as shortcake.

Makes 10 1/2 c servings.
