I'm 55 years YOUNG and I've been placing my French Toast in a waffle iron for years - and I LOVE IT. For some reason it changes the taste. I don't add the sugar but I do use cinnamon and top it off with sugar free syrup. Even my diabetic husband can eat them. - 8/28/08

I am so glad I finally tried it. So easy and quick to make, and it turns regular bread into something special. I leave sugar out of recipe and use eggbeaters for ease. Going to do sandwiches this way now too. Keep that waffle iron busy! - 12/20/16

even my 7 yr old likes this one! I left out the sugar and used cinnamon instead and used up the Pepperidge farm blueberry toasting bread I had on hand. Topped with some sugar free syrup - 2 slices and I'm full! - 4/26/14

I have made french toast in the waffle iron before but it has been a long time since I have made any that way. Seeing this recipe has inspired me to try it again. THanks for sharing. I am going to follow this recipe and have breakfast for dinner tonight. - 4/7/10

Absolutely perfect!! I'm a guy, so needless to say I could never make french toast without burning or ripping the bread! this was easy, I did make some substitutions that made mine 59 cal a piece. I used egg beaters and pepperidge farms light style Xtra fiber wheat bread(3 slices 120cal) + Fiber!! - 4/3/10

It was amazing! I sub sugar with Stevia. I also found it didn't make 6 servings so I will have to adjust nutrition values... and I added cinnamon! I served with tons of fruit, strawberries, apples, blueberries, kiwi and 2 tbsp yogurt & sugar free syrup! YUM - 1/30/10

I have made French toast waffles for years because you don't have to watch them as closely. I make my batter with nonfat creamer, leave out the sugar, and add cinnamon. It makes great with Gluten Free bread, too (miracle in and of itself)! I use sunflower butter on top and eat it like a sandwich. - 1/19/10
